I finally realized why I hate The Hunger Games even though it was an amazing and beautiful book.
It was far too real for comfort. It taught me that love is complicated, that no matter what you choice is it will have devastating consequences, not just for you but for everyone connected to you. It showed me that innocent people die to bad people just for the sake of the sport of it and that you will never get everything you want in life. Lastly and most importantly, it showed that real happy endings don’t exist and the best that you can get is numbness and it is usually far worse….These are just a few of the things but I think it shows that we expect life to be perfect and to work out like a fairytale in the end, but we will never get that fairytale in life.
